STATEMENT OF FAITH

The sole basis of our beliefs is the Bible, God's infallible written word, the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments. We believe that it was uniquely, verbally and fully inspired by the Holy Spirit and that it was written without error (inerrant) in the original manuscripts. It is the supreme and final authority in all matters of Christian faith.

Our Affirmation

We explicitly affirm our belief in basic Bible teachings as follows:

  1. The Bible is the word of God, having been God-breathed. God gave the Bible to the church, and the church is to serve God in obedience to the Bible. The Bible is the final and supreme authority for our doctrine and lives, and it is without error in the original writings. (1 Cor. 2:13; 2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Pet. 1:20-21)

  2. There is one true God, eternally existing in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - each of whom possesses equally all the attributes of Deity and the characteristics of personality. Each are equal in attributes, power, and glory. (Deut. 6:4; Eph. 4:4-6; 2 Cor. 13:14)

  3. Jesus Christ is God, the living Word, who became flesh through His miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit and His virgin birth. He is perfect Deity and true humanity united in one person forever. He is the unique Son of God, true God and true man. (Is. 7:14; Lk. 1:35; John 1:1-14; 5:22-23)

  4. He lived a sinless life and voluntarily atoned for the sins of men by dying on the cross as their substitute, His work of salvation is finished, that the righteous demands of God are fully satisfied in the work of Christ on the cross, and that there is salvation in no other thus satisfying divine justice and accomplishing salvation for all who trust in Him alone.

  5. He rose from the dead in the same body, though glorified, in which He lived and died. He ascended bodily into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God the Father, where He, the only mediator between God and man, continually makes intercession for His own. (Mk. 10:45; Rom. 6:1-14; Rom. 3:24-25; 1 Pet. 1:18-19; 2:24; John 19:30; Heb. 10:18; John 14:6)

  6. Man's nature is corrupted, and he is unable to please God. Every man is in need of spiritual regeneration (to be born-again). (Rom. 3:23; Rom. 6:23; John 3:3)

  7. The salvation of man is of God's free grace. God imputes His righteousness to those who put their faith in Christ alone for their salvation, and thereby justified them in His sight. (Eph. 2:8-9; Gal. 2:16; Rom. 3:28)

  8. All who repent and believe the gospel are eternally saved. Salvation is a free gift of God apart from any human merit. We believe that God's gracious offer of salvation can only be received freely, and that those who would add human merit to the gospel preach a false gospel. (Mk. 1:15; Rom. 10:9-10; Eph. 2:8-10; Gal. 2:21; 3:10)

  9. It is the privilege of all who are born again of the Spirit to be assured of their salvation from the very moment in which they trust Christ as their Savior. (1 John 5:11-13; John 5:24)

  10. The Holy Spirit has come into the world to reveal and glorify Christ and to apply the saving work of Christ to men. Every believer is called to live so in the power of the indwelling Spirit. (John 5:7;  John 16:14; Eph. 5:18)

  11. Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church, His Body, which is composed of all men, living and dead, who have been joined to Him through saving faith. (Col. 1:18; Matt. 16:18)

  12. God admonishes His people to assemble together regularly for worship, for participation in ordinances, for edification through the Scriptures and for mutual encouragement. (Heb. 10:25)

  13. At physical death the believer enters immediately into eternal, conscious fellowship with the Lord and awaits the resurrection of his body to everlasting life. (John 11:25)

  14. At physical death the unbeliever enters immediately into eternal, conscious separation from the Lord and awaits the resurrection of his body to everlasting judgment and condemnation. (Rev. 20:11-15)

  15. Jesus Christ will come again to the earth - personally, visibly and bodily - to consummate history and the eternal plan of God. Those who have believed in the Lord Jesus will have everlasting life in heaven and the unbelievers will be cast into the  lake of fire (hell). (John 14:1-3; 1 Thess. 4:13-18; Rev. 20:4-15)

  16. The Lord Jesus Christ commanded all believers to proclaim the gospel throughout the world, and to disciple men of every nation.  (Matt. 28:18-20)
